Honor introduced its latest offerings, the Honor Magic 6 and Honor Magic 6 Pro, in China on Thursday. These new smartphones feature the brand’s newest MagicOS 8.0 interface, built on Android 14, and are equipped with Qualcomm’s cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.With its striking LTPO OLED display and a powerful triple rear camera arrangement, the Honor Magic 6 series brings a host of impressive features to the table..

Notably, the Pro model stands out with a remarkable 180-megapixel periscope sensor in its rear camera unit. Powering the devices are substantial batteries, with the Honor Magic 6 packing a 5,450mAh cell and the Pro model housing a larger 5,600mAh battery. Both smartphones in the series hold an IP68 rating, ensuring resistance to dust and water

Price of Honor Magic 6, Honor Magic 6 Pro

The Honor Magic 6 comes with a price tag starting at CNY 4,399 (approximately Rs. 50,000) for the 12GB + 256GB model. If you’re eyeing the 16GB + 256GB variant, you’ll find it at CNY 4,699 (around Rs. 54,000), and for the 16GB + 512GB configuration, it goes up to CNY 4,999 (roughly Rs. 58,000).

On the other hand, the Honor Magic 6 Pro kicks off at CNY 5,699 (about Rs. 65,000) for the base 12GB + 256GB model. The 16GB + 512GB option is priced at CNY 6,199 (roughly Rs. 68,000), while the top-tier 16GB + 1TB version comes in at CNY 6,699 (approximately Rs. 77,000).

You can pre-order both smartphones now in China, and they come in a range of colors such as Liuyunzi (violet), Haihuqing (green), Qi Lianxue (silver), Velvet Black, and Wheat Green (translated from Chinese).

As for the release in India, the company has not provided any details yet. It seems like, for now, the Honor Magic 6 series might be exclusive to China.

Let’s take a look at the specs of the Honor Magic 6. This dual SIM (Nano) device operates on the latest MagicOS 8.0 interface, showcasing a vibrant 6.78-inch full-HD+ (1,264×2,800 pixels) OLED display. With a flexible refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz and DCI-P3 wide color gamut, the visuals are impressive. Powering the Magic 6 is the brand-new 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, complemented by 12GB of RAM and a spacious 256GB of storage.

Turning our attention to the camera setup of the Honor Magic 6, it boasts a versatile triple rear camera system. This includes a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera with f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilization, a 32-megapixel telephoto camera with OIS, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with autofocus. On the front, the phone is equipped with a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera featuring an f/2.0 aperture for capturing selfies and engaging in video chats.

The Honor Magic 6 offers a wide range of connectivity options, including 5G, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS, Galileo, GLONASS, Beidou, NFC, OTG, and a USB Type-C port. On the sensor front, it comes equipped with an accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, gravity sensor, color temperature sensor, and proximity sensor.

To make more robust for  security, the phone comes with a built-in in-display fingerprint sensor. Plus, for an immersive audio experience, it’s equipped with not just one, but dual speakers and dual microphones. Both models in the Honor Magic 6 series are IP68-rated, ensuring resistance to dust and water.

Powering the device is a 5,450mAh battery on the Honor Magic 6, supporting 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone’s height and width are 161.8×75.4×8.1mm, and it weighs 206 grams.

Let’s delve into the specifications of the Honor Magic 6 Pro. While it shares the same SIM, software, and hardware features with the regular Honor Magic 6, the Pro variant stands out with a slightly larger 6.8-inch full-HD+ (1,280×2,800 pixels) OLED display.

The screen is quite something – it smoothly adjusts its refresh rate from a super low 1Hz to a speedy 120Hz. Plus, with an impressive 93.20 percent screen-to-body ratio, it’s all about maximizing that visual real estate.. Notably, the display houses dual selfie cameras and a face unlock module within a centrally located wide pill. Under the hood, the Magic 6 Pro is equipped with up to 16GB of RAM and a spacious storage option of up to 1TB.

The star of the show on the Magic 6 Pro is undoubtedly its rear camera system. Imagine a whopping 180-megapixel 2.5x periscope camera that’s got your back with OIS support and a staggering 100x digital zoom. That’s not all – there’s a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/2.0, alongside another 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with autofocus. And for your selfies, the front side rocks a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 3D depth sensor.
