Talking with others is really important for a good life. Some people have trouble speaking clearly, but now there’s an independent platform voiceitt that helps them speak better with an AI developed tool.
Voiceitt, is an Israeli startup company that aims to help people with speech disabilities improve their speech clarity. They’ve developed an affordable tool that uses voice recognition and AI to better understand them. This technology is especially beneficial for individuals with medical conditions, disabilities, or age-related speech challenges, as it helps them communicate more effectively and lead more independent lives.
Why Voiceitt Was Created?
This idea for the app came from real stories. Sara Smolley, one of the founders, had a grandmother with Parkinson’s disease who couldn’t speak clearly. This made it hard for Sara and her siblings to connect with her. Similarly, Danny Weissberg, another founder, had a family member who lost his speech after a stroke.
Sara and Danny were inspired by their personal experiences to create Voiceitt. Their aim was to help individuals with speech difficulties be understood more effectively. Using this technology, the app can identify and understand speech challenges, making communication easier for those who need support.
Through their experiences, the partners discovered that over time, caregivers and family members could understand the speech of those with unclear speech, similar to how a mother understands her child. This realization inspired them to commit to assisting people in communicating effectively using their voices.
Voiceitt: A Web-Based Communication Platform
Voiceitt is a web-based platform that can be accessed from any internet-connected device, such as computers or smartphones, without needing to download a program or application. It works like this: you talk, and it turns your words into text or into spoken words. This helps you chat with people face-to-face or online, even if you have trouble speaking.
The platform uses smart AI technology that learns from you and uses special algorithms to understand how you speak. New users are prompted to repeat various words, phrases, and sentences to help Voiceitt learn their speech patterns.
“In this new world of voice-activated smart homes, smart cars, smart speakers, smart appliances, we could do a lot more by not just building a product, but essentially opening the world of these new technologies for people with speech disabilities,” explained by Smolley.
Voiceitt’s Improved Second Version and Partnership Focus
After years of development, Voiceitt was launched in 2023 as its second version, which is more advanced and user-friendly than the first. This new version is easier to start using and doesn’t require using your hands, which is great for people with physical disabilities.
Michael Cash, Voiceitt’s product manager who has cerebral palsy, played a key role in developing the second version. “I’m able to dictate emails and work-related documents, which is a lot quicker than typing on a keyboard,” Cash said “I can even use it on my phone to send WhatsApp messages and emails.
After the new platform was released, Voiceitt started working closely with other companies and groups to include its technology in their own systems.
Voiceitt’s Impact
As Voiceitt works with more companies and adds its technology to different systems, it’s set to help many people with speech disabilities. This will help them talk more confidently and be better understood in everything they do. Smolley emphasized the importance of good communication for success in both work and personal life.
